"The ache for home lives in all of us. The safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned"
- Maya Angelou

If reading books, drinking coffee, playing with your kiddos surrounded by plants and toys then this session is for you.
Initially, this session was meant to capture the client’s 6 month old daughter. And I can’t think of a better way to capture this milestone than in the family’s home, doing everyday things.

So how did the session flow or unfold you may ask? I brought with me a moses basket and some small props that I keep in my back pocket in case kiddos need a distraction. When I first get to a home, I will take a look at where the best light is. For this home, we decided to shoot in their 3-season porch and in both kiddos’ rooms.

We took some “portraits” of everyone smiling first before moving into more candid moments. For these, I will prompt the family while giving them space to naturally interact. The best moments are when everyone is connected. This means everyone is touching and looking at each other rather than the camera.

For the activities for this session, we played with blocks, read books, played with a toy camera I brought, and ended the session with a paint party. The family wanted to remember the everyday moments and all the tiny details.

If you want to capture moments like these, reach out and we can plan a session that is tailored to your family! Because time waits for no one.
