What activities are woven into the heart of your family? What do you do on the weekends or during your free time (assuming free time exists…with 3 kids of my own that sounds like a unicorn LOL).

For this family of 3 boys, we wanted to plan something that allowed them to be excited about photos, spending time together, and that related to this family. One of the boys loves boats, so this was the perfect choice!

This session took place in October. Mom is also a talented photographer, so planning together was fun and easy. While outfits didn’t arrive for mom in time, she was able to find the perfect, last minute dress in her closet; I couldn’t love this palette more. Below is a few of the outfit insp we started with. My favorite spot for kids clothes is Zara. Love their neutral colors, cozy knits, and vintage vibes.

The first part of the session had harsh light. The longer I photograph, the more I find myself drawn to the drama-the strong shadows and highlights-of this light. Check out some of these gorgeous moments before the soft, golden light hit, and we finished in blue hour with the boats.
